How is electricity produced?

There are several different methods in which electrical energy can be produced. They are fossil fuels, nuclear fission, water, solar and wind. The discovery of electricity production has accelerated civilization.

Electrical power is created by the movements of enormous turbine generators.

Fossil fuels such as coal, petroleum, and natural gas are used to heat water in large furnaces to create steam under tremendous pressure to turn the turbines. This type of electricity production releases vast amounts of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere damaging the health of our living growing planet Earth. It is imperative that we to turn to alternative methods to produce electricity.

Hydro-electric or Water power: Water dams are used to restrict water bodies and is control reased through the dam to move turbines, hence producing electricity. There is no air pollution as a result of this way howeverthe the ecosystem in these bodies of water can be negatively affected.

Wind Power: Wind energy uses a wind mill to turn the turbine that is used to generate electrical energy. Wind mills can be contructed inexpensively just about anywhere and will generate renewable energy that can be stored in battery cells for later use or to be sold to the power company if you generate more power than you need.

Nuclear fission:In my opinion is the most polluting and dangerous. Although nuclear reactors are built very solid and to exact specs to contain the element Uranium from any possible chance of leaking. Uranium is highly radioactive and of course extremely toxic. A large earthquake could cause a rupture of a nuclear reactor and contaminate the surrounding area. Also there is the issue of where to store the toxic waste that this type of energy creates.

Bio-waste:One of the least used methods that is gaining popularity because of the Green Movement. Technology is permitting new discoveries such as Bio-gas. These highly flamable gases can be equally used to heat water to create steam under pressure to turn the turbine generators.

Solar Power: The Sun being the free source of the power, shines on solar panels that are made of a special material that converts energy from our sun into electricity and like wind power can also be stored on batteries for later use. Getting off the Power Grid

Global warming, power shortages and over consumption are opening our minds to alternative energy devices that are becoming more affordable. Our environment is trying to tell us that we need to change our old ways.

How would you like to get off the power grid? Hands down- it is better for our environment by actually saving power. If you want you can totally eliminate your electricity bil. You will not only feel good about generating your own by solar and wind power but you will be helping Mother Nature.

Here are some advantages of living off the power grid.

Save our Earth's natural resources

Independence from the public utilities.

End power outages

Save money-Eliminate your power bill

Make Money by selling power back to you know who.

Help your community by sharing wind and solar power

Solar power and the wind power are the answers to your power needs. So plant a tree in celebration of the new earth. Save water and precious natural resources and our future generations will benefit big time.

If you are thinking it is not very feasible to get off the power grid, look for alternate power solutions and you will be surprised to learn that they are not only cost-effective but also extremely feasible.
